Mr. Gavin Green serves as the Associate Director of Bands and Coordinator of Percussion Studies for the Ozark School District. In this role, he works extensively with the district’s band program across grades 6–12, contributing to concert and marching ensembles, instrumental instruction, curriculum development, and the continued growth of the program while overseeing percussion education throughout the district. He helps sustain a unified vertical curriculum designed to provide students with consistent musical and technical development from beginning band through the high school level.

A native of the Arkansas River Valley and graduate of Fort Smith Southside High School, Gavin earned his Bachelor of Music Education – Instrumental from the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith, graduating Magna Cum Laude. During his time at UAFS, he performed with numerous ensembles, including Wind Ensemble, Athletic Band, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz and Rock Lab, Orchestra, Jazz Catz vocal jazz ensemble, and the Leonis Chamber Singers. His diverse performance background reflects experience across concert, marching, jazz, contemporary, orchestral, chamber, and vocal music settings.

Gavin has taught musicians throughout Arkansas and Oklahoma in grades 6–12. Prior to joining the Ozark School District, he served as Percussion Coordinator at Trinity Catholic School and Fort Smith Southside High School, where his students consistently earned Superior ratings at Solo & Ensemble contests.

Through the Arkansas River Valley Arts Academy, Gavin maintains a private percussion studio focused on developing well-rounded musicians and preparing students for advanced performance opportunities. His students have earned placements in All-Region and All-State Bands and have gone on to perform with DCI and WGI ensembles. To date, 100% of ARV Arts Academy percussion students pursuing collegiate music have earned scholarship opportunities following successful college audition preparation.

Under Gavin’s direction, the Ozark High School Percussion Ensemble was invited to perform at the 2027 University of Arkansas Day of Percussion, recognizing the ensemble’s continued musical growth and achievement.

Beyond his work in public education, Gavin is the founder and director of the Arkansas River Valley Arts Academy, one of the region’s few organizations dedicated specifically to music and theatre education. Through the Academy’s percussion department, he directs the annual ARV Drumline Camp, where students in grades 4–12 receive focused instruction in percussion fundamentals, musicianship, ensemble performance, teamwork, and leadership. As Founder and Executive Director, Gavin also oversees the Academy’s curriculum, programming, instructors, and administrative operations.

In addition to his work as an educator, Gavin is an active composer and arranger whose music has been commissioned and performed by schools and organizations across the United States. His work spans marching band, percussion ensemble, pageantry, and competitive cheerleading, including significant professional work with Varsity Spirit and the National Cheerleaders Association. His music has supported state and national championship programs and reflects his continued involvement in music education and the marching arts beyond his own school district.
